My name is Police Blogger; I entered the police service on 2010
and graduated my PSBRC (Public Safety Basic Recruit Course) mid 2011. Way back
in college, I don't have any plans of joining the police force because I was
once then a juvenile offender. I involve myself in gangsterism, shoplifting,
riot and any form of vandalism. I hated the police service before that I curse
them a lot and sometimes we even let them pursuit us back on the streets of my
home town. I have also experienced selling drugs but not as big time as the
Mexican Drug Cartel. Just to inform everyone, I belong to the Crips gang. It is
one of the biggest gang in my hometown. My life before was not normal like
those youngsters who always attend school in college. Yes, I graduated with a
degree course but I don't have good grades, I don't join school's activities
because my focus before was not about school but about my life on the
streets.
When I graduated, I laylow on gangsterism when my father sent me
to the metro and help him manage our small business. During those times, I have
realized bit by bit that being on the gang is not normal that the life there is
risky. So I plan on applying to a private firm. I was hired by one of the
biggest company in contact service industry. I enjoyed my life there and had
some good friends until the time came that I have already forgotten the
suicidal lifestyle. One day, I have realized that working in a private
firm can't help me grow. I was not that happy after 3 years of working on that
private firm. I was thinking about my future and thought that if I'm gonna have
a children, will I be able to send them to a prestigious school? I think not.
One day, my mother told me to try to take the NAPOLCOM exam. I really disagree
to the idea that I will be joining the police force. But I since she just asked
me to try it, then I really tried it. I submit all the required papers for the
entrance exam of the NAPOLCOM.
The result came and I didn't think that I was able to pass the
exam. But since that was just a trial, I didn't pursue on applying for the
police service. I continued my work at the private firm until I got tired and
resigned from my post. I quit the job and went to my father's province to live
with them. Here comes my mother again asking me to pass my requirements for the
police service. I did and the process was too hard. They have neurological
exam, physical exam, medical exam and interviews. I never thought I passed all
the exams and was able to took oath for the Police Officer 1 position last
2010. We had a 6 months training but it was extended up to 7 months and after
that, we were assigned to different places for the Field Training Program. After
the FTP, we were sent to S.C.O.U.T. (Special Counter-Insurgency Operation Unit
Training). The SCOUT was the most rigid of them all and very much physical. I
survived and now, I'm currently assigned at the Regional Public Safety
Battalion of our Region.
This is how I entered the Police Service of the Philippines and I
love it. I am proud to be a police non-commissioned officer.
